Tyson Stelzer (2005 Vintage) says
A very well-balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and ten percent Cabernet Franc, this is a wine that will age for a decade and beyond. Blackcurrant and blueberry fruits meet wood spice amid a sea of firm, fine tannins and lingering fruit persistence.
James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
A medium-bodied mix of spice, cedar and gentle black fruits; good mouthfeel and balance. Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc/Shiraz.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Light to medium-bodied; lively, savoury/lemony edges to red and black fruits; fresh; minimal tannins.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet opens with some bottle-developed foresty/earthy/cedary aromas then moves into dark, spicy fruits; the palate has very ripe fruit, low in tannin and high in alcohol, the slightly hot finish pointing to the 15° alcohol. A 50/30120 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet is a tad hard, with a mix of savoury/cedar/leafy/green aromas. However, the palate offers sweet plummy fruit alongside the characters flowing through from the bouquet; the tannins are balanced and the oak subtle.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
James Halliday (1994 Vintage) says
Medium red; the aromas are predominantly in the cedary/tobacco/earthy range, but are clean, and there is some sweet cassis lurking in the background. The palate is well balanced, with a mix of subtle red fruits and more cedary/earthy notes. Finishes with fine tannins; restrained oak influence throughout
