Cracka Review

This little chardy from Cape Jaffa is one of their top wines. It's produced biodynamically, and is a fuller-bodied, more 'old school' chardonnay. Aromas of citrus, buttered toast and honeysuckle rise from the glass, whilst the palate is quite compact and lush with some red apple and stone fruits, quite a bit of nuttiness and vanilla from the oak, and a dry, savoury-edged finish. There was only 100-cases made, so you had better be quick!

Winemaker's Notes

This wine exhibits intense aromas of lemon with hints of honey and toasted brioche.

The palate is full and intense, with a distinct mineral characteristic on the front palate. Layers of fruit support lashings of fine French oak, attributing to great length.

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Bright gleaming colour; it has intense drive to its grapefruit, white peach and nectarine fruit. I do hope the cork does not destroy the wine down the track, however 'natural' it may be.
