Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
This is a serious face of merlot, the vineyard yielding little more than a tonne to the acre, and the wine spending 24 months in French oak; the outcome is a strong bouquet and substantial structure to the palate; the aromas and flavour range through black cherry, cassis and a touch of black olive, the tannins firm but balanced and not dry; oak has, of course, left its calling card.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Fresh, light, crisp cassis-accented fruit at variance with the alcohol (the flavours should have been riper); easy lunch red.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Perfect varietal definition; gently spicy/savoury/olivaceous edges to the red fruit core; ripe, fine tannins and good oak. Shows what a light- to medium-bodied wine can achieve.
