Carramar Estate Cabernet

Expert Reviews

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (1999 Vintage) says
Carramar Estate is one of the labels of Casella, a progressive winery operating a state-of-the-art facility from Griffith in the Riverina. This is a well-priced wine: not as good as some of those that cost $5 more but fair value at under $10. It has scented red berry aromas, is supple and pleasant in the mouth with cedary oak, redcurrant and red cherry flavours and even a hint of tobacco. Sure, it's a bit firm and tannic on the finish, though that will probably improve if it has a few more months in the bottle, or if it's accompanied by osso buco or some full-flavoured meat dish.
