Looking for something different to go with your barbecued squid or grilled fish this weekend? Well this crisp, unoaked white out of Spain would be the bomb with all kinds of seafood! Pretty aromas of tropical fruits, yellow citrus, jasmine and a smattering of dried herbs lift from the glass, whilst the palate is lighter-bodied, tropical and herb flavoured, with a decent zip of citrusy acidity, and a slight bitter grip on the refreshing finish. Chill it down, and pass it around.
Appearance: Pale yellow of medium intensity, with metallic highlights.
Nose: Highly intense aromas; the varietal hints of Sauvignon Blanc (boxwood, fig leaf, exotic fruit) predominate, and the accompanying notes of white-fleshed fruit (ripe melon, pear drops, white peach) and the notes of white flowers characteristic of Macabeo form an original combination.
Palate: Pleasant, rounded mouth feel, with good volume. Well-balanced acidity with a lingering, harmonious finish, revealing green apple and the citrus hints of grated lime peel.
