Cervoles Negre Red Blend

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Hailing from an awesome vintage in northern Spain, this fuller-bodied red shows red and dark berries on the nose mingling with some toasted vanilla and a touch of mint. The palate is plush and rich, with choc-coated fruit flavours, a slight grip to the tannins and a sweetly-fruited finish that keeps on truckin'. Great with BBQ meats!

Winemaker's Notes

Plots planted in the late 1980s with Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha, with various exposures and row orientations which bestow complexity upon the Cérvoles.

Cherry red, medium intensity, with garnet highlights. Abundant, dense legs. Intense pleasant aromas of over- ripened fruit with hints of wood, particularly smoked and balsamic notes. Aeration reveals predominantly mineral aromas, with hints of aromatic herbs, such as fennel, thyme and rock tea, as well as dried fruits and chocolate. Sweet, unctuous mouth feel, with a great deal of volume, followed by well-balanced acidity and mature tannins. Very long finish with notes of nougat and wild fruits.
