Chalice Bridge The Chapman Series Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Woah bargain alert! Here we have a real Margaret River Cabernet that smells so wonderfully Cabernetish (yes that's a word, we're sure of it) that you can't help but like it. What exactly does that mean? Well, it just smells and tastes like good Cabernet grapes. It's not the most super powered Margaret River Cabernet around, but everything is all so ripe and juicy.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Dark plum with purple highlights.

Aroma: A nice blend of rich dark cherries and blackcurrants, with cedar overtones and a touch of cloves to finish.

Palate: The dark fruit characters of blackcurrant and dark cherry carry over to the palate, with a hint of dark chocolate. The wine has magnificent length, and with soft tannins and beautifully balanced acid, the finish is nice and clean.

Food Matching: A prime scotch fillet with sautéed button mushrooms and a hint of garlic will bring out the best in this Cabernet, and gets the stamp of approval from consultant winemaker Travis Clydesdale as dish of choice. Serve with gourmet jacket sea salt and rosemary potatoes.
