Chalice Bridge The Estate Margaret River Cabernet Merlot

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Margaret River can lay claim to more than just white blends, because it has forged ahead with producing Cabernet blends that are sought the world over. Chalice Bridge’s philosophy is to make individual wines of the highest quality with vibrant, distinctive regional characters. They certainly achieve that in this wine, melding the distinctive Cabernet and Merlot grapes.

Intense, red fruit nose with aromas of spice, mint and attractive chocolate. Typically it is soft, round and rich on the palate with dark fruit and spice adding complexity. Silky smooth tannins make it a delightfully balanced wine that would add enormous appeal to your next barbecue.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Deep cherry with striking purple highlights throughout.

Nose: The nose is full of sweet, dark cherry, with brambly black fruits, and a touch of mocha.

Palate: The palate is soft and round with a nice richness to it, aided by the addition of merlot to the cabernet sauvignon. The palate shows flavours of blackcurrant and dark cherry, integrated perfectly with some beautiful Margaret River spice. Lovely vanilla notes to finish combine with soft, silky tannins to make this wine a classic Margaret River blend.

Food: This cabernet merlot is perfectly suited for classic lamb shanks with pasta. Or for something more casual, this wine makes a great addition to any BBQ or Pizza Night.
