James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Red-purple of medium depth; an elegant and complex wine that shows the characters gained by finishing the fermentation in oak (American and French); it has very good cassis and briar flavours, the tannins soft and lingering. Its balance should ensure a long life.

A cooler climate style with a floral note to its blackcurrant and blackberry pips and pulp aromas. The superb tannins are always fine grained silky and soft and the fruit fresh full and rich in flavour. Medium body and soft tannins blackcurrant flavours with gentle oak made moreish by the fine tannin finish. Another wine that is excellent value from this stable.

Crimson-purple; a fragrant bouquet of cassis and blackcurrant leads into an elegant medium-bodied palate, with fine-grained tannins providing texture and structure from start to finish.

Bright and clear purple hue; a classic cool-grown cabernet, with an aromatic bouquet and a combination of dusty/earthy and fresh blackcurrant fruit on the medium-bodied palate; fine tannins leave the mouth fresh.

Blueberry and violet aromas; rich, yet strict mouthfeel, with many flavours coruscating to the finale; very tannic, but should show well with time.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Dark red-purple, it has intense varietal blackcurrant and cassis with a cool-climate twist of herb and olive, which add to rather than detract from this Bordeaux-style bargain.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Deep red-purple; clean, cassis/ blackcurrant fruit aromas are followed by a palate anchored on blackcurrant fruit, but multi-faceted, with a tangy, savoury edge and well-worked oak. The components are all in balance, but need time to weld together.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Vivid purple-red; fresh and vibrantly juicy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit on the bouquet are followed by a clean and lively palate with berry fruit, and fine, gently savoury tannins. Another very well made wine.
