Can I tell you a bit of a secret? No doubt you you know the big Champagne names – Moet, Veuve Clicquot. They make loads of Champagne, but behind some of the smaller houses there are plenty of brilliant wines to be found, and for nix. Here is a great example with five generations and 180 years in the Champagne game so Boizel know what they are doing. An elegant and restrained style, the perfect party starter - call it what you will for what is a ripper Champagne.
A brilliant straw gold robe with fine, regular bubbles.
An expressive, fine and fresh nose which opens on white flowers aromas followed by an elegant fruity ambiance with notes of white peach, apricot and some citrus fruits.
In the mouth, the texture is seductive, fresh and well balanced. The first aromas are joined by intense notes of candied fruits and acacia honey.
The final is mellow with a lovely persistency.
This champagne, pleasant as an aperitif, can be served throughout a meal, in particular to accompany seafood and fish.
