The theme of rich, lush Champagne styles continues here with this top shelf offering from Devaux. Blended from 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay, bright aromas of spicy red and black berries rise from the glass, together with hints of buttered toast. The palate is very dry, refined and delicate with some zippy lemony acidity, a minerally, almost oyster shell texture, and a long, brisk finish.
Appearance: Fine mousse with a lovely lace.
Nose: Fresh aromas with minerality moving to dried fruits, spices and saline notes (iodine). Key aromas: dried fruits, spices.
Palate: Wonderful liveliness and length. The low dosage enhances purity and elegance.
