Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
The 2000 vintage of this North Canterbury wine was a big, cheesy, buttery wine in its youth, made in a forward, high-impact style. Retested in 2002, it is golden, shows a lot of development and lacks real vibrancy and freshness. Drink up.

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
The 1998 vintage of this North Canterbury wine, labelled Mt Cass Road and sold at a higher price, is a fruity but not highly complex wine with clean, grapefruit-like flavours and balanced acidity. The 1999 is pale straw, full, smooth and flavoursome, with peach and melon fruit characters and a touch of French oak adding complexity.
