Chandon Vintage Blanc de Noirs

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Largely sourced from the Upper Yarra Valley and Macedon. A strong straw-gold colour; the bouquet is truly complex, with secondary biscuit/ brioche notes contrasting with crisp red berries; the palate is long, with classy acidity and no hint of sweetness.
Australian Wine Companion 2013 2012
Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
Possibly concealing a hint of smoke taint, this light, but rather greenish pinot has a creamy, chewy presence of ripe, if slightly confectionery raspberry/cherry fruit that finishes slightly attenuated and marginally bitter.
The Australian Wine Annual 2012
Jeremy Oliver (1999 Vintage) says
A maturing and complex wine whose lightly meaty and creamy, earthy bouquet still reveals nuances of raspberry confection. Its generous and deeply textured palate delivers gamey, toasty flavour that finishes long and savoury, with a lingering pastry like aspect. An authentic blanc de noirs style.
Australian Wine Annual 2007 2006
James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium straw-yellow; a powerful and complex nutty/bready bouquet is followed by a well structured palate, echoing the complexity of the bouquet, with brioche and strawberry, than a lively, crisp, dry finish. As the name implies, 100 per cent Pinot Noir.
Australian Wine Companion 2004 2003
Jeremy Oliver (1997 Vintage) says
Delightfully evolved and complex, with a meaty, bready and nutty bouquet plus a chewy, long and elegant palate of restrained power. Long, rich and creamy, it's assertive and punchy, revealing a deep, spicy core of fruit, before finishing long and savoury.
Australian Wine Annual 2005 2004
James Halliday (1995 Vintage) says
Pale salmon, it has distinctive raisin bread aromas; very fine strawberry flavours, distinctively Pinot Noir, run through a well-balanced palate without any harshness or hardness.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
James Halliday (1994 Vintage) says
Pale straw bronze; the bouquet is complex, with nutty, strawberry aromas; there is excellent flavour, richness and balance, with an echo of strawberry on the palate. Perfect judgment of dosage.
Australian Wine Companion 2000 1999
James Halliday (1992 Vintage) says
Pale straw; the bouquet is still extraordinarily discreet, tight and full, with scents of spice, earth and forest berries. A structured wine in the mouth, with a grain to its texture, showing bread, biscuit and mineral flavours, finishing with brisk acidity.
Australian Wine Companion 1999 1998
James Halliday (1991 Vintage) says
Medium straw-pink; a striking wine showing complex yeast and bottle-aged characters with wild strawberry aromas and a biscuity underlay from the pinot noir. The palate is powerful and ripe with whispers of marmalade and toffee along with the strawberry/biscuity pinot noir varietal input.
