Chapman Grove Dreaming Dog Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

How about that? A Margaret River Shiraz comes in and takes two plum trophies at the Sydney Show right our from under the noses of much more fancied opposition. And no wonder too because this wine, from a great Margaret River vintage, delivers a cracking mouthful of Margaret River Shiraz with loads of spicy mulberry flavour. Two trophies and under $15 a bottle – now that is the best deal in town.

Winemaker's Notes

The Dreaming Dog range of wines is a tribute to our canine friends that have kept us company in the vineyard over the years.... a procession of white dogs who have left their mark on our lives and our hearts. The 2009 vintages shows layers of berry spice with some blackberry notes. Soft and generous with plenty of fruit sweetness and persistence underlined by fine chalky tannins.

Chapman Grove Dreaming Dog Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
The Dreaming Dog wines are the bottom tier of three. This export-focused business, with 267 ha of vineyards, and a 450 000-dozen production flies under the radar in Australia. Good depth to the colour; has an abundance of gently spicy dark plum fruit aromas and flavours supported by fine, soft tannins and subtle oak. Trophy Best Small Producer Named Vineyard Sydney Wine Show '11.
