Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
A little beeswax and wild grasses, melon fruits and a little baked apple too. The palate has slippery pear- and melon-flavoured flesh, and finishes much cleaner and drier than most. Nice chalky edge.

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Simple, lolly-like nose and full-flavoured and weighty, honeycomb-like palate with very good acid/fruit balance.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
The full, rather Chardonnay-like 1998 vintage was estate-grown near Gibbston in Central Otago and fermented and lees-aged in seasoned oak barrels. Bright lemon/green, with buttery "malo" characters on the nose, it's a softly structured wine with citrusy, appley, buttery flavours, good weight and crisp underlying acidity. Drink now or cellar for a couple of years.
