Expert Reviews

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
From grapes picked five to six weeks after the main harvest, an enticingly scented wine with youthful colour, very fresh, pure, citrusy flavours, a hint of apricots, and lovely elegance and richness.
WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011) 2011
Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
Grown in Marlborough, the light gold 2007 vintage has a honeyed bouquet and a crisp, sweet palate (120 grams/litre of residual sugar), with strong, citrusy, honeyed, slightly limey flavours and firm acid spine. Drink now or cellar.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Glowing green-yellow' the bouquet is firm and clean, rather less aromatic than many of the more spectacular New Zealand late harvest styles. The palate, however, has plenty of mandarin and lime juice flavour, is moderately intense and well balanced. For many this will make it more approachable. Gold medal at the Royal Easter Wine Show 2000.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
Tasted in its infancy, the 1999 vintage looked potentially outstanding. Harvested in Marlborough at over 30 brix, with "hardly any Botrytis", and made at the West Brook winery in West Auckland, it's a very refined, scented and vibrant wine with lovely, pure, searching flavours of honey and pears in a sweet (90 grams/litre of residual sugar) but not rampantly sweet style.
