Chateau Cantin

Cracka Review

This is a step up from the Chateau des Combes, and it certainly has more of everything in the bottle. Cherries are once more the theme with this wine, together with spiced plums and sniffs of mocha oak. The palate is medium to fuller-bodied with bright acidity, quite firm tannins, and a dry, solid finish. It will benefit from time or plenty of air before serving.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: This Château Cantin 2011 seduces us with its intense and brilliant garnet red colour associated with shades of fuchsia.

Nose: After aeration, the nose is powerful and complex with both fruity and spicy notes and hints of cherry and licorice.

Palate: On the palate the attack is full and well balanced with exquisite notes of blackberry and chocolate.

Food: Serve with fillet of duck breast, grilled rib steak or cheeses.

Cellaring: Up to 5 years reflecting the above notes. After this period, the wine will show more mature characteristics.
