Owned by Louis Roederer this is a medium-bodied cabernet blend that shows blackcurrant, black olives, red berries and smoky savouriness on the nose, whilst the palate is dark fruited and olive flavoured, with hints of mocha, some grip to the tannins, and a quite an intense fruit and earth finish. Drinking well now, but may be even better in another year or so.
Rich and full with deep red highlights. Lovely nose of red fruit, showing ripeness and a mixture of subtly toasty, truffle aromas mingled with hints of spices and forest floor. A touch lively on the attack but pleasantly firm and rounded as it develops on the palate. The tannins are lovely, elegant and silky and very persistent through to the finish which is elegant, refined and mouth-watering. A magnificent accompaniment to game and roasts.
