Chateau de Sours Bordeaux Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Made from a blend of semillon and sav blanc, this is a dry, more medium-bodied style of white that shows bright almost tropical fruits on the nose mingling with bright citrus and touches of savoury smokiness and earth. The palate is bright and rounded, with some juicy citrus and subtle stone fruit flavours, a lick of toasted vanilla, and a decent, bone-dry finish. These wines are great with prawn ravioli, or even some Comte cheese.

Winemaker's Notes

A fresh blend of sauvignon blanc and semillon with enticing aromas of lime and pineapple underlined by smoky mineral notes.

Appearance: This has produced a wonderfully fresh wine of a pale green, almost silver, colour.

Nose: Enticing aromas of lime, pineapple, white peaches, liquorice and intense smoky and mineral notes from the limestone plateau.

Palate: On the palate there is a crispy attack of well balanced acidity with nicely integrated oak textured roundness and a touch of vanilla to balance the lemony freshness and a long dry finish.

Cellaring: Drink this wine until 2016.

Grape Variety: Chateau de Sours Blanc is made from 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon from older vines.
