This is a more modern style of Bordeaux, which means there's a fair bit of fruit in this pup. A few years in bottle has been advantageous with this wine, as it has given the tannins a chance to settle. It still shows deep, dark fruits on the the nose, together with earthy spices and sniffs of dark chocolate. The palate is medium to fuller-bodied, with a juicy, plummy centre, talcy tannins, and a smooth earthy and mocha finish. Beef wellington would be the go with this one!

Winemaker's Notes

Lovely purple colour. Red fruit and plums on the nose. Palate is soft, round in the mouth with minerals and fine chalky tannins. Great balance and length. Delicious, classy merlot!

"Garnet in the glass and has forest floor scents. Spiced cheery flavour shows on the front palate and plum, mocha coffe and anise fruit characters meld with toasty oak on the middle. Chalky tannins feature at the finish."
