Chateau St Jean Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon
This is quite a plush, ripe style of cab sav, with some generous oak, so fans of big reds will be delighted with this! Blackcurrant jam, fleshy plums, toasted cedar and dried tobacco leaf leap out of the glass to wrestle the senses, then the full-bodied palate chimes in with rich, super-ripe, sweet flavours of dark fruits and plums, a good hit of toasty oak, a bit of grip to the tannins, and a juicy, warming finish. It's still amazingly primary and young-looking right now, so a good decant or a couple more years in the cellar could see it mellow a little.
Bright aromas of blackberry, red currant, cassis and hints of cedar box are inviting on this Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is concentrated and structured with a plush fruit core of dark berry fruit. The palate is round and full and with a lingering finish.
