James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
The wine was neither fined nor filtered (a badge of honour) and is faintly turbid, although the colour is deep; all of the usual feel-good techniques are elaborated on the back label; it has almost frightening power, with a fireworks display of black fruits, licorice, spice and oak; improbable though it may seem, the wine is very well balanced and will richly repay cellaring; keep under lock and key for the next five years at least.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Deep red-purple; the bouquet is rich and deep, with black fruits, plum cake, chocolate and mocha aromas faithfully replayed on the full-bodied, albeit quite soft, palate. From the 80-year-old vines of the Lauke Vineyard. If you use a one-piece cork, it needs to be of better quality than those in the '08 Terroirs of the Barossa Shirazs.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Medium- to full-bodied; fragrant aromas of black fruits and spice plus obvious vanilla oak; fine tannins on a notably long and fine finish; a little less oak would have made a better wine.

Medium-bodied; quire firm and savoury, with black fruits, spice and earth; most restrained and elegant; an interesting trio with same alcohol and winemaking; 80-year-old vines.
