Chrismont La Zona Rosato Mezzanotte

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Made from a blend of sangiovese, barbera and marzemino, 'Mezzanotte' is Italian for midnight. Maybe that's a suggestion of when to drink it, however, it would go down very well at lunchtime too. It's pretty in pink, fun and fruity with red berry and cherry aromas. On the palate, it's light, refreshing and savoury with a refreshing, relatively dry finish. It's not trying to be fancy, just a good drink. Try it with stuffed peppers or tomato-based pasta dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Red cherry in colour.

Nose: The nose has an array of cherry and strawberry aromas with a confectionary background.<

Palate: The front palate is obviously dry, with crisp acidity. Light bodied and refreshing, the fruit flavours last the full length of the palate finishing slightly savoury.

Food: Pairs well with antipasto and light pasta dishes.

Cellaring: Drink young and fresh to 3 years.

Salmon-pink; has a burst of spice from the Sangiovese/Barbera/Marzemino used to make the wine; good balance, length and a dry finish.
