Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2010 Vintage) says
An elegant, fine-grained shiraz whose sweet fragrance of raspberries, cassis and blueberries, violets and light, cedary oak is lifted by scents of fine spice and black pepper. Gently but tightly wound around a fine spine of dusty tannins, its bright, juicy presence of small black and red berries and cedar/chocolate oak finishes with a hint of mineral and mint, plus a finely balanced acidity.

Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
Musky and peppery, with ripe but briary aromas of dark plums, blackberries and charcuterie with smoky, peppery undertones. It's long and generous, with dark, faintly sour-edged fruit underpinned by firmish dusty tannins, finishing with meaty, savoury aspects and a suggestion of mint and menthol.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
Very fine-grained, elegant and silky, with a spicy bouquet of dark plums, cherries, white pepper, nutmeg and cloves backed by a hint of meatiness and dried leaves. There's also a faint meatiness present beneath its supple, long and savoury palate whose dark plum and blueberry influences are enhanced by dark chocolate oak. While it lacks great length, it will provide delicious drinking over the short to medium term.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Super-elegant, light- to medium-bodied wine, reflecting the modest alcohol level; cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavours; balanced tannins and oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Elegant, light to medium-bodied wine; spicy and peppery, at the other end of the spectrum to Grampians; brisk finish.
