Zinfandel is pretty much the noble red of the USA. It has a cult following over there, probably due to its rich and muscle-bound nature. This one is very much in that vein, with ripe smells of raspberries, Christmas cake, plum jam, soft spices and mocha on the nose, followed up by a full-bodied, luscious palate, with ultra-ripe fruit flavours, fine tannins, and a smooth, fleshy, rich finish. One for the big red lovers!
Garnet in color, Clos Du Val’s 2010 Zinfandel offers a bouquet of spice, cinnamon and red
fruit. This is a rich, intense Zinfandel characterized by explosive fruit flavors. The palate
delivers notes of dried fruit, jam and spice with a rich middle and a long, lingering finish.
Though this is a powerful wine, flavors remain in balance, making this Zinfandel an excellent
choice for any meal.
