Clos Henri is part of the French Henry Bourgeois portfolio, and they certainly have a bit of a euro-centric personality whilst maintaining their Marlborough roots. 

Winemaker's Notes

The organically produced wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain fruit elegance and flavour; it is then aged on fine lees for six months. Aromas of passionfruit, guava, grapefruit and dairy rise from the glass, whilst the palate has a certain richness about it, with tropical gooseberry flaours, racy citrusy acidity, a creamy mouthfeel, and a long, talcy finish. Butter-poached shellfish would be the go with this.

Fleshy, ripe and rounded wine, grown in clay rather than stony soils, with mouthfilling body and deep, distinctly tropical fruit flavours. Dry and very harmonious, with a powerful presence. A top vintage, very enjoyable now.

This has an air of real polish to it; made by Frenchman Henri Bourgeois, it has a brightness and richness that combine in an impressive style. The citrus and tropical fruits are deeply anchored in here - some herbs too - and there's a lingering textural richness and presence, with really satisfying balance to close.
