Finding a Tassie pinot noir at this price is getting harder these days due to the rise in popularity of these wines, but here we have one that is the second label of Coal Valley Vineyard, and it's a ripper! Beguiling aromas of red berries and cherries, wafts of rose florals and soft pepper spices tempt the senses, whilst the palate is medium-bodied, slinky and spicy, with touches of earthiness, rippling tannins, and a bright spiced fruit finish. Excellent value, and would be the bomb with confit of duck over the next 5-years.

Clear crimson-purple; the bouquet is fresh and fragrant; the wine enters the mouth without any fanfare of trumpets, but uncoils its flavours as it accelerates through to the back-palate and finish, savoury, spicy tannins moving into forest floor notes.
