This is a fruit-driven style of Chardonnay with subtle wood influence and appetising acidity. The word "Reserve" is added in top vintages. The 1997 vintage was grown in the Jacksons Road area, partly barrel-fermented, entirely oak-aged and given a full, softening malolactic fermentation. Light lemon/green, it's a mouthfilling wine with ripe citrusy fruit characters to the fore, a touch of spicy oak and firm acid spine. There is no 1998.
