Collards Shanty Block Malbec
Expert Reviews
Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The 2002 vintage was made from second-crop vines in the estate vineyard at Henderson and oak-aged. One of the country's most enjoyable Malbecs, it's richly coloured, with a fragrant bouquet of raspberry, plum and spice. Warm and supple, slightly earthy and chocolatey, with sweet-fruit characters and gentle tannins, it shows good ripeness, complexity and depth.Buyer's Guide to New Zealand Wines
Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
The dark, deeply flavoured 2001 vintage was made from first-crop vines, estate-grown at Henderson, and oak-aged for seven months. Mouthfilling and well-rounded, with great drinkability, it's less earthy and rustic than some other Malbecs, with rich plum and red berry flavours.Buyer's Guide to New Zealand Wines
