Coopers Creek Fat Cat Gisborne Chardonnay

Michael Cooper (2004 Vintage) says
Fat Cat is made by Purr Productions of Huapai - a division of Coopers Creek. The goal is 'a fat, alcoholic wine with lots of oak - a wine that's just what the name suggests' (an unspecified portion of the proceeds goes to the SPCA). The 2004 vintage is fresh and full-bodied (14 per cent alcohol), with decent depth of ripe, citrusy, peachy flavour, seasoned with sweet oak.

The goal is 'a fat, alcoholic wine with lots of oak - a wine that's just what the name suggests' (an unspecified portion of the proceeds go to the SPCA). For the 2002 vintage 70 per cent of the blend was fermented in contact with new American oak staves and given a softening malolactic fermentation. It's a bold, drink-young style, mouthfilling (14 per cent alcohol), with grapefruit and peach flavours strongly seasoned with sweet, toasty oak.
