Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
The 1995 and 1996 vintages were not exciting, but the 1997 is one of the best value dessert wines on the market. This golden Marlborough beauty was harvested at 40 brix, and 15 per cent of the final blend was fermented and matured for several months in French oak. Beautifully perfumed, with rich, complex flavours of apricots, oranges and oak, it's a mouthfilling, concentrated and treacly wine, oily and honey-sweet. At $20 per 500 ml bottle, this is a "steal".
