Expert Reviews

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Strong red-purple; the bouquet is quite powerful, with a mix of sweet berry and more savoury characters, supported by pleasant oak. The palate offers more of the same, with sweet berry fruit on the mid-palate moving through to lingering but gentle tannins on the finish.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Full of character, the 1998 vintage is a generous, supple blend of Marlborough and Hawke's Bay fruit, matured in French and American oak casks. Deeply coloured, it is fresh and mouthfilling (14 per cent alcohol), with warm cassis/plum flavours and balanced tannins in a spicy, fairly complex style.
