This merlot out of the Adelaide Hills is quite a sultry, medium-bodied minx that has a splash of cab sav and petit verdot in the mix for added structure and colour. Smells of plums, violets and crushed leaves waft out of the glass, along with a slight touch of dried herbs. Meanwhile, the palate is quite elegant with fruit and savoury flavours, a fine and solid line of tannins, bright acidity, and a bit of earthy, meaty savouriness on the finish. This will go well with a lamb stew, or just a simple hamburger.
This is a vibrant, fragrant style of Merlot. Medium bodied with complexity from a small amount of Cabernet and Petit Verdot in the final blend and just enough is added to give those delicious scented floral tones before a dry savoury finish.
