James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; pleasant, ripe black berry fruits on the bouquet show neither green nor any other off character; the palate opens with very attractive fruit flavour, although does weaken towards the finish when the wine lacks tannin structure. Nonetheless, this is the best Cowra Estate Cabernets to date, and is well priced.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; there is sweet, slightly stewy, berry fruit on the bouquet; the palate has some concentration and some unresolved tannins. Would have benefited from a bit more work in barrel, but the underlying fruit is quite good.

James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet is of light to medium intensity, with minty/earthy fruit supported by a touch of vanilla oak. A fairly light but clean palate, with pleasant minty berry fruit, just a touch of oak and soft tannins.

James Halliday (1995 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; a clean bouquet of medium intensity, a light dusting of oak, and earthy, red berry fruits, leads on to a nicely constructed palate with quite sweet redcurrant fruit and a nice lick of oak.
