The sturdy 2007 vintage was matured for 16 months in French oak casks (50 per cent new). Full-coloured, with a spicy bouquet, it is mouthfilling (14 per cent alcohol), with strong cherry and spice flavours, firm, ripe and gutsy. It's slightly 'dry reddish', reflecting the relatively warm growing environment, but has plenty of depth and personality.
