Craggy Range Fletcher Vineyard Noble Botrytis Riesling

Cracka Review

Pale greenish straw in colour. Aromas of marmalade, fresh cut orange, citrus zest and hints of baking spices and orange pekoe tea. The palate remains fresh and is loaded with ripe citrus, mango and stonefruit flavours. Concentrated and succulent with generous natural sweetness and balanced acidity.
A fine powdery textural line leads to a long juicy finish.

Food Match: Cheeses, fruit, fruit based desserts

Craggy Range Wine Reviews and Accolades

Gold Medal: 2010 Trinations Wine Competition
“The Craggy Range ‘Fletcher’ Marlborough Noble Riesling 2008 had a straw yellow colour with golden hints. On bouquet, this had limes, florals, minerals and honey from the botrytis. Quite restrained at first, the nose grew in the glass, emerging superbly. Very sweet, but fine-grained, this combined honey and talc with citrus marmalade flavours on a palate that hinted at decadence with stylishness. Excellent acidity to prevent cloying, and a family chalk note.” - 19/10, Raymond Chan, 2010

“This is an impressive sweet wine of scintillating clarity and precision, displaying lemon/lime, beeswax and a hint of nutty characters on the nose. The palate is focused and finely textured showing charming sweetness and bright acidity leading to a delicate long finish. A fabulous young wine showing great potential.” - 93-95 Points and 5 Stars, Sam Kim for www.wineorbit.co.nz, 2010

“This is another in a long line of fine botrytised Rieslings grown in the Fletcher Vineyard in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. An attractive fresh quality imbues the wine, with lime leaf and lemon zest notes joined by a pronounced anise character. A firm structure with slaty acidity underpins the fruit. A good partner for a classic apricot tarte Tatin and cream.” - 4 Stars, Cuisine Magazine NZ Dessert Wine Tasting Panel, 2011
