Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Merlot

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
This is a top buy - superior to many higher-priced Hawke's Bay reds. The 2007 vintage harvested at 24 brix, includes 13 per cent Cabernet Franc (adding 'spice and complexity'), and was matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (31 per cent new). Classy, with lovely richness and texture, it is deeply coloured, with a fragrant bouquet of plums and spices. Concentrated and supple, with ripe, plummy, distinctly spicy flavours and very finegrained tannins, it offers great value.
