Craggy Range Zebra Vineyard Pinot Noir

Cracka Review

Dark plum red. Aromas of cherry and blackberry mix with warm earth, meat, smoke and wild herbs. The palate is thick and rich, intriguingly flavoured, filled with dark berries, oak spice and savoury elements. An underlying savoury tannic platform is typical of the vineyard. These tannins, and natural acidity, carry the wine through a lengthy finish.

Craggy Range Wine Reviews and Accolades

“A rich and complex bouquet displaying dark cherry, floral, spice and a touch of truffle characters. The palate is beautifully textured with well harmonised acidity and supple, rounded tannins. The wine is generous and well proportioned with a lingering finish. An elegant expression of the Bendigo district." - 93 Points and 5 Stars, Sam Kim for Wine Orbit, 2009

“The barrel sample of the 2008 Zebra Vineyard Pinot Noir is just a little muffled on the nose although there seems to be ample red-berried fruits here and it clears up with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, fine chewy tannins on the entry, great depth and purity here with succulent ripe plum, pomegranate and bilberry fruit towards the finish. Lovely texture and surfeit with finesse.” - 91-93 Points, Neal Martin for Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate 2009

“Medium deep ruby red with purple hues, this had a full nose showing a touch of alcohol with bright dark cherry fruit aromas. Supple and elegant, the bright cherryish fruit showed good concentration, fresh acidity and low extraction, allowing accessibility.” - 18/20, Raymond Chan, 2010

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
“Already delicious, this Bendigo red is fragrant, mouthfilling, ripe and supple, with good concentration of cherry/plum flavours, oak complexity and gentle tannins.”

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Rich, meaty pinot with very clean cordial fruit aromas layered with spices and toast. Seamless and slate-like palate. A lot of oak but theres enough varietal fruit to carry it.
