A nice, deep hue here for a young 2011. There s a leafy edge and a bright, ripe deep cherry nose that brings a sense of good ripeness, some plum and spice too. The palate s also quite bright, reasonable flesh, a little surge of acid, bright red fruit flavours and light tannins to close. Pre-bottling sample.

The 2010 Craigow Pinot Noir has a ripe, earthy and slightly leathery nose, with plenty of savoury characters ruling the roost ahead of mixed forest berries and leaves. The palate s quite solid, with dense and juicy plum flavours, and acid striding out through the finish. A little more time to integrate will bring the best results.

Light to medium red-purple; very ripe cherry fruit aromas, almost essency, lead into an intense palate with a mix of cherry and spice on the one hand, and leaf and mint on the other. Something of a Curate's Egg, but the good bits definitely outweigh the other bits.
