Ray Jordan (2011 Vintage) says
Crams a stack of deep dark fruit into an opulent frame. Plum and chocolate characters with a little oak. The tannins are ripe and supple in keeping with the generous soft style. Excellent current drinking wine. Has just a little spicy on the back palate adding complexity.

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Full red-purple; a medium-to full-bodied palate delivers the blackberry and blood plum fruit promised by the bouquet, with and added splash of dark chocolate. No one could accuse the wine of elegance, but its good-humoured rustic generosity makes it good value.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
A pleasant wine with earthy/leafy aromas and simple palate with good, oak/fruit balance.

Big, dark and very intense wine with some lovely old vine fruit obvious, exhibiting tones of blackberry and spice. Lovely, lightly spicy palate with good weight of varietal fruit.

Limpid crimson-purple; when a wine wins a trophy, a top gold (not on the way to the trophy) and four other gold medals in a row in '10, you know it is something quite special, and in my view it was unlucky not to win a second trophy. The X factor? This wine has exquisite texture, balance, line and glorious length, plus everything else one looks for in a cool-climate shiraz (blackberry, plum, spice, cedar).
