Croft Pinot Noir

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

From the land of the long white cloud comes the family-owned Croft Wines. A good deal of effort has gone into making this pinot noir, from the hand-picked grapes through to the careful handling in the winery. This tasty little number has bucket loads of spicy red cherries along with some earthen dried leafiness. The palate is lively, lithe and luscious with fine tannins and a good lick of chocolatey oak. It would go quite nicely with some lambs fry.

Winemaker's Notes

Rich, ripe and seductive. Spicy notes dominate the nose with background aromas of dark cherries and chocolate that fill the glass.

The palate has a richness and velvet like complexion from harvesting fully ripe grapes. Our winemaking style focuses on producing a well balanced Pinot Noir that is finely structured and has both elegance and texture.

The fruit was hand harvested and immediately taken to the winery, where the grapes were fully destemmed. The must then underwent cool pre ferment maceration for seven days. 100% natural fermentation was followed by nineteen days on the skins. Ten months in French oak barriques of which 20% were new.

Alcohol: 13.9%
