Rob Geddes MW (2011 Vintage) says
Good for a 2011 with stone fruit aromas, ripe nectarine and white peach with a lick of oak in the back ground. The palate is more grapefruit with poised acidity and light body.

Rob Geddes MW (2010 Vintage) says
A good example of modern Australian chardonnay fragrant cool fruit means It's long in flavour and Chester adds a savoury and nutty tang. Has great acidity and lovely oak contribution that balances and carries the ripe fruit.

A good example of modern Australian chardonnay, fragrant cool fruit means it's long, savoury and around for the mid term. Has great acidity and lovely older oak contribution.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Powerful, complex nose with gamey aromas. Toasty oak comes through on the palate and there are some very interesting feral notes.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
More elegant than the '05; melon, stone fruit and citrus with barrel ferment support; fruit-driven.

WINESTATE (2006 Vintage) says
Citrus fruit aromas with nice toasty complexity. Some simple, zesty, lemon drop flavours fill up the mouth.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Radically different to the Olive Grove Chardonnay; elegant and precise citrus, melon and apple; complex bouquet from barrel ferment, but not over the top.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Complex, slightly funky barrel ferment aromas; rich, mouthfilling, ripe stone fruit, peach and citrus; big impact style.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Lots of winemaking footprints; barrel ferment and malolactic inputs obvious; the use of a basket press is decidedly quixotic.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Very funky, solids/wild yeast aromas, then a striking, long, intense citrus and melon palate.

Medium to full yellow-green; the complex and tangy bouquet has some Burgundian overtones, the rich, sweet peachy fruit complexed by nutty malolactic and barrel-ferment oak inputs on the finish. The fulsome back label will tell you all about the Lucky Lizard.
