Cracka Review

The Dandelion Vineyards comprises of a collection of vignerons and winemakers on a mission to produce the best examples of varieties and the regions that suit them. This is a Merlot that really delivers on its promise to over-deliver. In this incarnation it shows plum, mulberry and spice, some milk chocolate and vanillin oak. It’s a festival of berries showing raspberry, blackcurrant, firm structured tannins and spice as well as quite a significant finish for the variety. Mock Merlot no more, this is mightier than most.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Intense crimson with youthful purple hues.

Nose: Lifted, elegant notes of blue fruits, blood and of course damson plums with a dash of Christmas pudding-like spice. All accented by hints of bramble and dark chocolate.

Palate: Lush, mouth filling sweet blackberry and plums elegantly cover the palate with nuances of sweet spice. Silky, fine tannins and dark chocolaty notes tickle throughout the lengthy palate with youthful and pretty finish.

Food: Perfectly matched with all richly flavoured foods, meats, stews, game or mature hard cheeses. Alluring on the palate our Merlot commands company with food and friends.
