Dandelion Vineyards Pride of the Fleurieu Peninsula Cabernet Sauvignon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The irrepressible energy of this brand more than matches the quality of the wines that are stylishly made by the very talented Elena Brooks. The brand actually has no winery but cherry picks the best fruit from vineyards from all over South Australia to make the wines they want. This Cabernet is one just example, using Fleurieu fruit to give it a distinctive edge. It’s imbued with black currants and cedar as well as notes of spice. The palate delivers all the nose promises as well as structured tannins, mouth-filling fruit and great persistence.

Winemaker's Notes

The nose is scented blueberries, cassis and anise aromas with baking spice, cedar and blackberry notes. The palate is rich, deep, full-flavoured, blueberry, black plums, figs and red berry flavours. Cedar, clove, nutmeg and classic Cabernet tannins softened by smooth, mouth-filling fruit before a really extended finish.
