d'Arenberg The Footbolt Old Vine Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium purple-red; the bouquet is very earthy/stalky, and lacking the richness one expects from d'Arenberg. The palate, too, has some atypical, harsh green fruit characters. Possibly a poor bottle.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet offers fresh, clean cherry fruit with touches of earth; the palate is nowhere near as concentrated as that of the Dead Arm, but does have fresh cherry, berry and mint fruit, and is supported by good tannins on the finish.

James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; a clean bouquet, with a mix of berry, earth and liquorice fruit together with just a touch of chocolate and subtle oak is followed logically by the palate, with sweet fruit and oak, earth and liquorice flavours, finishing with moderate tannins.
