Darley Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Just look at the colour of this wine – positively dripping in deep purple just like all the great wines from Heathcote, and it delivers quite a mouthful of sweet black berry fruit too; blackberry, dark cherry, kirsch and spicy nuances with some silky tannins. It won’t live for an eternity but when it tastes this good who cares. P.S. Made by Sandro Mosele whom also makes one of the best new-wave of Heathcote Shiraz which this wine looks remarkably similar to.......

Winemaker's Notes

The grapes are hand picked before a natural cold soak followed by fermentation.

Maceration lasted 2 weeks in open top fermenters. The cap was punched down by hand to extract good colour and ripe tannins.

After fermention the wine was aged for 20 months in French barriques, of which 20% was new oak.
