David Franz Museum Release AD 2000 Shiraz Cabernet VP

Cracka Review

Colour: Deep burnt toffee over red brick.

Nose: Aniseed, toffee and fine aged brandy spirit initially assault the nose laid over incredibly developed caramelised Olorosso sherry characters with uber ripe plum preserve.

Palate: The aniseed tang of fennel seed studded through rich plum fudge is lifted and cleansed by the old brandy spirit's knife like edge. Surprisingly fresh and rich fruit characters display the rich fusion of varietal Cabernet cassis and Shiraz spicy red fruit. A time capsule of the '79 vintage to savour.

James Halliday (1979 Vintage) says
A well-remembered port originally released under the Peter Lehmann label; has matured very well; chocolate, mocha and spice, with a marvellously dry finish.
