Cracka Review

Made from a blend of pinot gris, riesling, chardonnay and sav blanc sourced from the Orange region, scents of apples, pears, citrus and butteriness rise from the glass and wrestle the nasal hairs. The palate is more medium-bodied and dry with orchard fruit and toasty flavours, a talcy texture, and a crunchy Granny Smith apple finish. It's the ideal Friday casual wine that would go well with some antipasto.

Winemaker's Notes

The wine has fresh lifted aromatic aromas. The palate is rich, textural and complex with a long lasting finish.

David Hook Reviews and Accolades

I was a big fan of the red field blend a couple of weeks back and this is full of character too. I remember talking to Hookie last year and he mentioned he liked whites as he got older with some phenolics and grip and he;s not afraid to show that in his winemaking producing Euro-inspired wines of texture.
The blend of Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling kicks off with citrus, peach and apricot, a melange of tropically without being obvious there's a wet stone minerality and a savoury aroma too.
It's got good weight and balance between lifted fruit and pebbly chalkiness, that grip is evident and it finishes with pert acids and a dryness that is mouth-watering.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
An ultra-complex blend of Pinot Gris/Viognier/ Riesling/Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc separately fermented and matured in aged oak barriques prior to blending. Truly has a Joseph's coat of flavours that come together remarkably well on the palate. Given an extra point or two for the degree of difficulty.
