James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Bright, clear crimson-purple; the Hunter valley, often tormented by vintage while much of the rest of eastern Australia swam in water. this medium-bodied wine has excellent texture and structure, red and black fruits folded in an embrace of quality oak and balanced, but persistent, tannins. 13.5% alc.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
It's the texture (and unforced acidity) that really makes this wine happen. It tastes of orange peel, earth, deli meats, nuts and mixed berries. Beautiful tannin at work here - lush, powdery and smooth. It has good length and is medium-bodied. Oh, those tannins. Wonderful to feel in your mouth. Earthy flavours on exit. Nice wine. Grows and builds with time in glass.
