Cracka Review

Fantastic bubbly from our mate Steve Webber. All Chardonnay, pure as the driven snow and silky as sliky can be. Brilliant Oz Sparkling better than loads of French stuff at three times the price.

De Bortoli Wine Reviews & Accolades

"Food match: Oysters Sparkling wines at this price point are often one-dimensional but this new offering from De Bortoli has layers of complexity. Made from chardonnay grapes, this is crisp, dry and refreshing, with nice yeast and apple scents. On the palate are citrus flavours with hints of toast and a nuttiness that adds to the wine?s complexity. There?s also a Rococo rosé that?s great value and worth checking out." - 4/5, Ben Thomas for The Weekly Review, December 2010

"Ultra-fresh fizz with fine bubbles and delicate flavours - nuances of fresh cream, green apples and lemon zest. Serve ice-cold." - Home & Garden Magazine, September 2009

"Pleasant, youthful sparkling with light green apple aromas and fresh citrus flavours. Easy Drinking." - Winestate Magazine, March 2009

expert reviews about

De Bortoli Rococo Blanc de Blancs

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock says
Looking to really play ball, De Bortoli's new Yarra sparkling has 100% barrel-fermented chardonnay with a secondary fermentation in tank and plenty of lees contact. Punchy chardonnay aromas with some yeasty /fresh bread complexity, citrus and peach blossom. Attractive finely textured apple-flavoured palate. Balance, length, it's got it all.

James Halliday says
Fine elegant lemon fruit and green apple bouquet, with a fine bead and linear acidity; a nicely balanced wine, with a dry, even and attractive finish
Australian Wine Companion 2010
Tyson Stelzer says
"Sophisticated and delicate, this is the bargain bubbles that we've all been wishing for years. Extended lees contact has blessed it with great texture and restraint, with earthy, yeasty complexity riding under its complex lemon and dried fruit flavours."
WBM Wine 100 2009
Campbell Mattinson says
"Of course, it also needs to taste good, and the De Bortoli Rococo Blanc de Blancs sure does. It's fresh and fluffy (yep, I'll stand by that), but it has lots of baked bread flavours, too. And the packaging is spectacular"
Sunday Herald Sun, February 2010
Angus Hughson says
"There are few better-priced and classy wines on the market than this. Pure chardonnay gives a wine that radiates fineness from every pore, with restrained fruit and subtle yeasty nuances balanced with brisk acidity."
The Australian, December 2010
